This brings me to the point of this entry, which is the importance of the digital arts in the new day and age. Just like Dan, many illustrators and artists in general, are becoming more and more inclined to work digitally. There is more opportunity and more potential in the digital world. Although some still prefer to work in the original medium, like me for example who still prefers film over digital photo, the digital world is one that is extremely multi-faceted and something that even if you aren't necessarily into, you should absolutely know. It is important now, that artists do more for themselves. It used to be the case that you didn't have to advertise your work, you simply met people who knew you or of you and it was all word of mouth. The case nowadays, is radically different. If you aren't your own, artist, marketer, advertiser, designer, manager, financial advisor, you are worth nothing. So many people are becoming talented artists, and it's important to bring something to the table that not everyone has, or that everyone else knows, so that really it's just the art that people look at.
People like Dan are up and coming, and truly going places. By putting your work out there and showing off what you got, people are going to see it, like it, talk about it, pay for it, remember it, and ask for it. Which is what all artists eventually want right?
