Hey Ya'll!
Welcome to the new SpeakinART blog.
Here is a rundown of the weekly goodies you can find here!
During the week we will be posting fun videos, photos, and links to what other people are doing in their medium. It's important to us here at SpeakinART that we are all educated in the community of Art, not just visual arts. So you'll find posts about literature, music, and theater, as well as what is up in the visual arts community.
Thursdays, like today, will be dedicated to posting what's new in the the art world. Bands that have recently released new music or museums that have awesome new shows and displays. Although we mostly talk about music and the visual arts here, definitely comment and we'll post some new things around the community!
On the weekends we'll be posting work that's going on with us. We want to keep you updated with the things we have going on and projects and people we're working with.
As for today, we're talking about recently released albums that are becoming popular!
1. This week the Now 40 was released. For those of us that remember and had copies of the first 5 Now albums, this is rather shocking. Who honestly believed that Now would have made 35 more albums of pop music in the last ten years. Not us. However, these albums are still popular amongst the Nation's youth and being sold readily. In fact, The special edition of Now-- 2 disk deluxe version-- is for sale at $14.95. Seems pretty inexpensive for such a large edition of music. Some of the great names you can find on this album are: Maroon 5, Pink, Foster the People, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Black Eyed Peas. The good thing that we CAN say about the evolution of Now though, is that 11 years later, we still have the good sense to include Britney Spears on the Album. And that, we appreciate.
2. A little older than Now, was the much anticipated release of the new Coldplay album, Mylo Xyloto. The EP with singles like "Every teardrop is a waterfall" was used and abused in anticipation of the album. The band started working on the album in 2009 when they were still on Tour for Viva La Vida, another extremely well received album. The two year album was written by the band, and is a concise piece of art to say the least. We highly suggest listening to the album, as one solid piece, rather than song by song to get the true effect. So far, the young album has been enjoyed by many. The listener reviews are extraordinary and some critics are saying that its Coldplay's best album. Although we still prefer Parachutes-- the bands millenium album that reached #1 on British Charts-- we definitely suggest giving the new Mylo Xyloto a listen.
3. And finally, with Christmas around the corner, and people getting ready to turn on the Christmas tunes, here are some of the albums that we suggest.
--- Peanuts Christmas Album
This album is full of childhood favorites, and of course the Charlie Brown Theme song, and who doesn't love that?
--- The Mickey Mouse Album
Another classic. The original Disney characters singing christmas favorites, how could you not want to listen to that?
--- Christmas with Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin
If you really want that "Miracle on 34th street" christmas, definitely pick up a copy of this album. Available used on Amazon for $1.99 this album holds all the wonders of the White Christmas. We also suggest picking up Marshmallows and Hot Chocolate when you buy this album. Trust us, you're going to want it.
Keep Creating!
